The Easton Glacier is the most popular and straightforward route on Mount Baker, known for its gradual slopes and consistent terrain. The route ascends the mountain’s southern flank, offering a clear line to the summit with fewer technical challenges than other approaches.

May–September (best June–August). Early season = more snow; late season = more exposed glacier features.

DAY 1
Approach & Camp
Meet at trailhead, gear check, hike through meadows/forest to snowline, establish high camp. Afternoon skills session (crampons/axe, rope travel), early dinner & sunset views.
DAY 2
Glacier Skills & Rest
Refine movement on snow, rope-team practice, terrain management, summit plan review, and early to bed. Hydration and rest are the priority.
DAY 3
Summit & Exit
Alpine start (pre-dawn). Climb the Easton Glacier at a steady pace, summit Mt. Baker (10,781 ft) conditions permitting, descend to camp, pack up, and hike out.
