Born and raised in Santa Cruz, California, Zach began guiding in 2021 after moving to Seattle and falling in love with the diversity and volume of climbing the Cascades had to offer. He enjoys pushing himself on challenging rock climbs and threading the needle for conditions on big winter routes. In his work, he takes pride in instruction and facilitating the climbing goals of his students. Whether it’s a beginner course on glacier mountaineering, or a focused lesson plan aimed at honing rock climbing skills, Zach loves to help his students build the confidence to tackle their dream objectives. When not guiding, Zach can be found training in the gym, slack lining, and scheming his next creative endeavor.
