The North Ridge of Mt. Baker is a classic alpine climb that combines glacier travel, knife-edge ridge climbing, and complex glacier travel. Over 3 days, you’ll experience the beauty of Baker’s glaciers, traverse its dramatic ridges, and work toward the summit of this iconic Cascade volcano. The North Ridge is a step-up from the other routes on Baker, giving climbers a more remote and adventurous experience with sweeping views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. This climb is ideal for intermediate mountaineers who have prior glacier experience and are ready to tackle a complex alpine route. We'll climb steep snow, moderate alpine ice, and weave through big glaciers.

Altitude
At 10,781 ft, altitude effects can occur. A gradual approach and proper hydration help ensure a strong summit day. Normally, climbers will feel the altitude for the last 1000 feet to the summit or so but altitude sickness rarely occurs.
