Be prepared for a 20 foot section of vertical ice depending on the conditions. Generally, easier conditions in May and June and harder conditions in July and August.

At 10,781 ft, altitude effects can occur. A gradual approach and proper hydration help ensure a strong summit day. Normally, climbers will feel the altitude for the last 1000 feet to the summit or so but altitude sickness rarely occurs.

Itinerary

Trip Itinerary

DAY 1
Hike to Camp
We hike for around 3 hours to camp next to the toe of the coleman glacier and review rope skills.
DAY 2
Train on Ice
We spend the day learning proper ice climbing technique and how to efficiently climb multiple ice pitches as a team before bumping up to our higher camp.
DAY 3
Summit Day
We get an early start and go for the summit. After weaving across the Coleman Glacier, we tackle 3,000 feet of steep snow and ice to the summit.
DAY 4
Descend to Trailhead
We enjoy a final sunrise and breakfast before descending back to the trailhead. The team will often grab lunch together in Glacier before parting ways.
